We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Assistant Coach who loves rowing and is committed to helping young athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love for the sport. As an Assistant Coach, you'll work closely with the Head Coach to implement training plans, provide on-the-water and erg instruction, and monitor athlete progress and well-being to create a positive and supportive environment for our rowers.
Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices.

Support the Head Coach in rigging and de-rigging boats and general equipment maintenance.

Provide direct coaching and instruction to athletes on rowing technique, race strategy, and physical conditioning.

Help ensure the safety of all athletes during practices and competitions.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging team environment.

Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and fellow coaching staff.

Model sportsmanship, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

Attend regattas and team events, and communicate as needed.
Requirements/Qualifications:
-
Prior rowing experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level.

Strong understanding of sculling and sweep rowing technique, on-land and on-water training principles, and safety protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes and track milestones.

Current First Aid and CPR Certification

USRowing Level 1 or 2 Coaching Certification

Safesport Certification
-
Must be able to pass a background check.

Availability to work afternoons, evenings, and some weekends, as required by practice and regatta schedules.
